Smoking Cessation

Smoking Cessation

At Good Samaritan Hospital we are committed to improving the health of our community by combating tobacco use, the top cause of cancer in the nation. Quitting smoking doesn’t have to be hard. With our support and the support of your family and friends, you CAN do it! Along with our on-site services, we also work closely with the Rockland County Department of Health to provide residents of Rockland County with additional classes and support groups.

The Rockland County Department of Health utilizes proven techniques through innovative educational and supportive activities that include:

  • Understanding why you smoke
  • Analyzing smoking patterns
  • Using nicotine replacement products (patch, gum, lozenge)
  • Controlling your daily routine
  • Coping with cravings
  • Planning ahead
  • Dealing with stress
  • Managing slips
  • Reducing weight gain
  • And living without smoking

Rockland County residents are also eligible to receive up to ten weeks of free nicotine replacement therapy. We urge you to contact us today. Quitting smoking is the most important health decision you can make for your family, your community, and yourself.
